Special (financial) needs

Have you thought about how YOU can help meet some crucial needs for our Togolese brothers?  In this section are just a sampling of how you can help.  If you would like more information on any of these project, please contact our team leader right away.

We have various urgent needs for land to purchase in order to help our fledgling churches as they grow.  We also have an urgent need to help a pastor and his family relocate after his wife suffered a very serious stroke.  She is walking around and helping around the house but his caring for his wife necessitates him caring for more for her than the church ministry and this is understandable.  If you would like to help us with this tremendous need, please contact our team leader as soon as possible.

The Village of Light in Kpalimé, Togo is a ministry of ABWE that helps educate the Blind how to read the Bible in French Braille and help them live with their handicap in their own village.  Each of our students comes to us from different areas of Togo.  This school year we have thirty students attending our school.  Each day they hear about how God loves them and are calling them to be His child.  What a joy it is to see a child who is blind spiritually come to know Christ as their Savior.
 
During a violent thunder storm, the Village of Light was plunged into darkness after a streak of lightening hit our transformer that gives us Togo government electricity.  It has been over 14 days since that had happened.  Thankfully, the Lord has given us a generator that is able to keep our water pump running and refrigerators going.  We have eight to nine hours of power during the day and then we go back into the       darkness.  The center cannot run on the generator-generated power forever.  The power company has told us that the cost for our transformer and lightening rod will be $8,700.  We already have $7,000 towards this project.  We are currently using funds designated for the 2008 budget to pay for the unexpected expense of running the generator (already spent $750 to run it).  Humanly speaking, it is   impossible for the Center to re-generate that amount of funds quickly to continue our work.
 
At the Village of Light, we are praying for God to help us daily through this trial.  He has been faithful in keeping this ministry running by faithful donors and fervent prayer warriors.  It will be exciting to see how God answers our prayers and need!
