Hospital/Medical Personel Needs.

Hospital Administrator-to oversee an effective hospital outreach program to help meet the health needs of Togolese. This position is available in both the northern and southern hospitals.

A Full-time maintenance man is needed for both hospital sites (north and south). General knowledge of building maintenance, electricity and plumbing is necessary; knowledge of gas and diesel engines would be helpful.Doctors-Surgeon, Family practice, etc.
One general surgeon or one OB/GYN surgeon or one OB/FP surgeon is needed for the Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital (KKMCH). Hospital Specialty Nurses - One nurse educator (BSN required, MSN and teaching experience preferred), one nurse mid-wife one nurse anesthetist, or one nurse and one nurse practitioner are needed in leadership/mentoring role for Togolese staff. We also need doctors from various specialties such as pediatrician, family practice, Internal Medicine to name a few.
Biomedical team to assess hospital instruments and needs. We also have a great need for our new northern medical outreach ministry. This would be a full-time career missionary position. Not only is a general surgeon needed but lab techs, nurses, nurses aids and the list can go on. We need any medical type person desiring to help start up this new ministry Hospital.
Network administrator.
Someone who is well versed in networking and can help in a career or short-term capacity. Need to be self-starting and motivated and ready to teach.
Nurse educators:
a) For the upcoming nursing program (starting in 2011), our primary need is for clinical instructors (working with students in the hospital setting, supervising skills, challenging critical thinking, evaluating student nurse progress). We are looking for nurses who have experience in teaching or precepting. The clinical instructor would, ideally, be here in Togo for a period of six months at a time (even more would be great!) in order to work effectively with the students. We would also ask that this nurse allow at least one month for orientation to our hospital since our nursing care is quite different in some instances than that of hospital nursing in the U.S. or Canada. One of our major needs is for an OB-experienced clinical instructor but we could definitely use clinical instructors in other areas as well (areas other than OB).
b) Nurse educators who would be interested in teaching specific nursing skills (catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, etc). This nurse would need to be here for approximately one month - to be familiar with those particular skill procedures at our hospital, teach/demonstrate the skill to the nursing students, and help with validation of skill performance.
c) There is the possibility that there may be 1-2 classroom teaching modules for which we would need experienced nurse educators with at least a BS in nursing (MSN preferred). This is just a possibility at this point and is dependent on the load of full-time missionary nurse faculty during the upcoming nursing program.
